October 6, 2010: Closs Writer-in-Residence (104 Kirby, 7:00 p.m.)

The fiction writer Sam Lipsyte presents a public reading as this year’s Ruth Closs Visiting Writer-in-Residence. He will meet with students earlier in the day.

A former editor of Feed magazine, Sam Lipsyte teaches at Columbia University.  He is the author of a collection of stories, Venus Drive, and three novels, most recently The Ask (2010), which has received rave reviews in The New York Times and other places.  His 2005 novel Home Land, available in paperback, won the Believer Book Award.
